Financial year 2017 was wholly devoted to this motto. Our focus on a strong core business, future-oriented technologies, and the realignment of our production network enabled us to bring financial year 2017 to a good conclusion. Last year we once again retained or extended our market leadership in our most important core markets.

From a hybrid bus to bus models for the African market and new flagship vehicles for the touring coach segment, our product offensive demonstrates that we offer tailored and innovative products and services that meet the requirements of our customers all over the world.

In addition, we are systematically continuing to grow. Last year we continued to expand within emerging markets, for example. Not only our global market presence but also our flexible and realigned production network enable us to optimally supply our products to countries throughout the world. 

At the same time, we are also shaping the future of mobility. As a leader in innovation, we want to utilize key technologies such as connectivity, automated driving, shared mobility, and electric drive systems to develop leading mobility solutions for our customers. That way, we prepare our customers for the digital age and boost their business. Our all-electric Citaro city bus, which we will deliver to customers for the first time in late 2018, is certainly one of this year’s major highlights.

We are certain that these activities will not only lay the groundwork for sustained profitable growth but also enable us to continue to offer our customers the best bus-related mobility solutions. This is perfectly in line with the motto “Daimler Buses. Best Buses.”
